Kitchen Update - Mar 6

Jo and I had been working through Maki Mail this week to meet our first Friday of the month deadline. You might have gotten a notification from us sometime this week. If you're expecting one and haven't yet gotten it, just sit tight. As of me writing this, we've sent out Maki Mail for all Omakase Members and are still working on Kaiseki Members today. I might have underestimated the time needed to meet this deadline so I might have some stragglers going out tomorrow too, but everyone's mail will be shipped out this week. As a reminder, all Tasting Room Members get one free monthly shipment, and the next batch will be shipping April 3rd, so use that member code if you have it!

"We don't ship to this address" Cart Issue Resolved

After my last e-mail, it seemed some folks were reporting that they got an error saying "We don't ship to this address" - DOH!!! I had been fixing it across individual items, but I think I finally addressed the broader issue overall. If you attempt checkout and run into this error again, just reply to this e-mail to let me know. I don't have an IT team or anything like that, so I need to know there's a problem so I can fix it, and I rely on the reports I get from you and other guests to improve the process!

Production photos!
Next, more excitingly... It's not a lot, but I did get some mold photos and some pics of the 🐓 Uni Onadagori (2nd Edition Recolor) ! The original production was originally colored wrong, so this is the correction with the colors as intended. I love how the glitter is looking on this run! This pin will be going out to everyone who opted to wait for the recolor - The original brown one won't be reprinted, so we're considering that one an accidental limited edition. If you're the kind of collector who would want both, just order two and I'll assume you want one of each!

I was hoping to share mold photos for more of the designs, but I'm running two orders from two different manufacturers. One is very good about getting me photos (the ones below), the other tends to not send much unless they're showing photos of a completed production. It's a little nerve-wracking, but they always deliver.

I've also included the proof image of the new cards that I ordered as well. I've finally made a formal "Appetizer" style backer card, which is the rice background one. I also decided to bring back the Cucumber-o-Latern Cards for the Crowquette and Takomori, just because I think those cards are fun and it feels very on brand since they were October pins. The Rice Paper Sika Spring Roll's card is also unique as well, since it's a special edition. I've found that having themes for the cards helps a lot with visual organization for not only myself, but it also makes it easier for folks to find pins from the To Go menu when the organization is consistent from the menu to the booth.
