Member Non-Response Policy

I'm so excited to deliver you new dishes every month - but for some reason, sometimes folks will sign up for rewards, but won't give me what I need to deliver them! This is very exhausting. It keeps me up at night, and fuels my anxiety, so here's what happens if I can't reach you.

All new Tasting Room Pin Club memberships will be snail-mailed a Welcome Kit. This Welcome Kit contains instructions on how to setup your profile. If you have a paid membership, I'll send your Maneki Neko Thank You Gift pin after you setup your profile, because this action tells me that you got my mail, saw it and completed the instructions.

Paid Memberships

If you purchase a membership, you will be prioritized and I will take every step I can to fulfill your rewards within reason. 

Immediately after purchase, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to setup your profile and make selections. Additionally, you will receive your Welcome Kit with instructions for setup as a physical reminder to complete your setup.

After you setup your profile, your first Maneki Neko reward will be placed into your next Maki Mail shipment.

After 30 days, if you do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, you will get an e-mail reminder regarding your missing selection during Maki Mail week. We will also check our event RSVP records to see if you will be attending an event where we can reach you.

After 60 days, if you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving your reminder e-mail, we will attempt to e-mail you again three times, until the following Maki Mail Week. 

After 90 days, if you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving three reminder e-mails, we will presume that you are not receiving our e-mails. Our next step is to attempt to call you on the phone if you added it to your profile. Yes, millennials, I know this is shocking, but I am getting desperate at this point.

After 120 days, If you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving three reminder e-mails, and if you do not answer the phone or respond to our voicemail message, we will mail you a reminder letter in the mail.

After 150 days, If you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving three reminder e-mails, and if you do not answer the phone or respond to our voicemail message, and if you do not respond to our reminder letter, we will send a 2nd reminder letter.

After 180 days, If you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving three reminder e-mails, and if you do not answer the phone or respond to our voicemail message, and if you do not respond to our first or second reminder letter, we will send a final notice letter begging you to reply. Your food has gotten cold, and we're worried about you.

After 210 days, If you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving three reminder e-mails, and if you do not answer the phone or respond to our voicemail message, and if you do not respond to our first or second reminder letter, nor our final notice, we will, with great regret, mark your order as fulfilled and closed due to no response.

Reopening closed orders due to non-response will be considered on a case by case basis.

Free Kaiseki Reward Memberships

If you redeem a free reward, the extent to which I will attempt to reach you is greatly limited because the reward is already free. I am unable to spend time chasing you down, so please be proactive and work with me to ensure I can deliver your rewards. 

For existing/previous Tasting Room Members:

If you are a previous or existing Tasting Room Member who has already setup your profile and made selections in the past, then awesome! Keep doing what you're doin, just answer the Tasting Room Selection Survey twice.

If you are a previous or existing Tasting Room Member who has already setup your profile and made selections in the past, but you don't make a specific selection for your Free Kaiseki Reward, then we'll apply the 2nd reward from that month's Tasting Room Menu, regardless of Chef's Choice preference.

For new/non-members who are redeeming their reward for the first time:

Immediately after redeeming, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to setup your profile and make selections. Additionally, you will receive your Reward Welcome Kit with instructions for setup as a physical reminder to complete your setup.

After 30 days, if you do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, you will get an e-mail reminder regarding your missing selection during Maki Mail week.

After 60 days, If you still do not make a selection or setup your profile after receiving your setup e-mail and welcome kit, and after receiving your reminder e-mail, your free reward will be forfeit.

  • Your redemption will be marked as fulfilled and considered complete. 
  • Selections will not be added retroactively to orders that have already been forfeit.
