This is a "Catering Crew" role: Work is performed independently and on-site at events. 🔄 Role Flexibility The Event Lead Role will usually be a first to be called upon when events are scheduled, so this role is best for extroverted folks who are open to the possibility of traveling often. This role can be a dedicated role or an overlapping role along with another role.This role can be undertaken by anyone on the team who wishes to attend a specific convention, or who wishes to attend an event that is not currently on the calendar. If you would like to work a specific event not yet on our calendar, let Tina know you're interested in being the Event Lead for that event.Current Team Members should be able to ensure their regular duties are still being completed and existing deadlines will continue to be met, either by completing them as well or by getting assistance during the event. 📝 Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: If the event is not on calendar: Propose new event(s) to Tina & submit event applications after receiving approval If the event is already scheduled: Pre-event Planning and Documentation You will be leading multiple team meetings to train and prepare your team Travel time to and from event (Must arrive early Thursday for setup and stay until completion of teardown) Must be able to work 8 hours each sales day during the event, and may need to be on call depending on team needs Responsible for overseeing the team on-site to ensure smooth operations 🕰️ Time Commitment BEFORE the convention: You will be responsible for pre-event preparation, including but not limited to: Selecting your team, if a team is not preassembled for you. Ensuring all team members are properly onboarded Ensuring all team members pre-register OR assist all team members to be able to claim their badges when provided as part of the exhibitor package. Checking in at minimum monthly (or as often as desired within the Tuesday open times) Being aware of and following SushiTomodachi management & documentation procedures Est. Time: 3 to 6 hours of work over the course of multiple weeks or months leading up to the event. You will be LEADING a Team Training Call, and will be responsible for scheduling a meeting time, scheduling with all team members, leading the training. Est. Time: One Hour per call plus any desired prep time. You will lead your team in a Con Team discussion with Tina on the Tuesday before the event to check for any team questions, pinch points and verify understanding of all expectations. Est. Time: One Hour per call plus any desired prep time. DURING the convention: You are responsible for overseeing the completion of Setup, Prep Work & Teardown. Setup: You must arrive before the posted Vendor Setup hours on Thursday (or Day 0) or earlier, and be prepared to report to the Event Lead to work when Vendor Setup Hours start. Est. Time: 2-4 hours to setup booth, varies based on team & booth size Teardown: You must be prepared assist with Teardown on Sunday Night (Last day), reporting in to the table 30 minutes before close. Est Time: 45 mins-2 hrs for teardown, varies based on team & booth size You must be available to work at the booth during Dealer's Room open hours. Times required may include during major convention events such as Fursuit Parade, Dance Comp or any other event. In team of 2 or less (Most common): Expect to work all three days, up to the entire open time. In team of 3 (Ideal): Allows for rotation and possibility for all Crew Members to get one day off during the con. In team of 4 or more: Not usually needed. Larger teams are reserved for major conventions like SDCC or Anthrocon only. Allows for more time off for Crew Members during the con in exchange for less compensation. Est. Time: As needed during the con from Thurs-Monday 👉 Role Requirements This role has performance quota/expectations: Must collect a minimum of 30 new customer e-mail addresses throughout the event (This is basically guaranteed as long as you follow the script) This is a Customer Facing Role: Must be punctual so that others can trust they can rely on you Must present well according to dress code Must be prepared to interact with the public with a positive demeanor. Must be able to maintain emotional composure in the face of potential stress. Team Scheduled Work Shifts: 🍣 Work Schedule shared Google Calendar. 💰 Compensation This role can earn a comped trip, bonuses from their performance and priority in shift selection, but also requires a considerable commitment.
