1. Always use the physical Pantone book If working in office, Pantone books are available for your use. If working remotely, a Pantone book can be provided, see footnote at end of this article. 2. Prepare Pantones First Original artwork may not have Pantone specific colors, so you will need to find the closest match, since this will affect the public facing artwork. You will also need to check values on the colors chosen, and ensure proper color contrast, which may result in color adjustments. Resolving these first will minimize corrected work. 3. Add a swatch and the full, capitalized text "PANTONE XXX C" Use a large, heavy san-serif font. Update the color of the font using the RGB values on the card, and this will usually highlight a color variance between the original and actual. If the color looks good to you IN PERSON (digital may vary!), then use this to update the swatch and artwork. SHOWN: Example of a heavy, san serif font with the Pantone Code listed. Doing this first helps you verify the accuracy of the code shown on the diagram. SHOWN: Selected the text, the opened the color picker. RGB values listed on the card are entered into their respective fields. Click OK to commit the change. SHOWN: With the color change commited, we can see the color variance from the original swatch, and the actual Pantone code. Color pick from the text to update the swatch and artwork. In Clip Studio Paint, use the fill tool and turn off "Apply color to selected pixels only" to quickly update all instances of a single color. SHOWN: The swatch and text color now all match the artwork.
