TASK: Put away all convention inventory, pre-prepared for the next event. Goal for this Task: Returning inventory has been put away, is organized and anyone looking for it can find it in it's expected pick box. A pre-packed bag is ready to pull and pack for the next convention Inventory has been counted, and this number is reflected both in Shopify and on the Inventory Card included in the bag. This item appears in POS Search Results. This item appears in the next event's Collection Page (For customers to shop in person at the convention) by having the event tag added to it. This item is ready to be sold at the next convention. Simplified Instructions Unpack Inventory Returning from Con Verify that products are Activated on the Point of Sale Sales Channel Verify that each product has inventory set aside for the event in Shopify. Prebag Inventory for the Next Convention and Store it in the Pick Box for that item Add event tag to all items, always all lowercase with no spaces. Who does this task? Kitchen Team (On Site In Office) When should this task be completed? All inventory should be returned to their homes within one work day of being unpacked. What resources are required for this task? REQUIRED Access to Shopify REQUIRED Access to physical inventory (This task cannot be performed remotely) "Last Call" Inventory Cards How do we perform this task? Leverage the use of bulk editing tools in Shopify for faster work completion. Bulk editing tools can be used to review & edit many items at once instead of having to check each individual listing one by one. You can adjust product details such as the Sales Channels, prices, SKUs, etc by selecting items from the Products page, clicking "Bulk Edit" and add the columns for the data you need to review/edit. You can adjust inventory counts by selecting multiple items from the Products > Inventory page, clicking "Bulk Edit" and add the columns for the locations you need to review/edit. Review each inventory bag one at a time, as each bag should contain all items of that kind. Update inventory quantities if stragglers are found. Detailed Instructions 1: Unpack Inventory Returning from Con Con staff was directed to group all like items together, so each bag /should/ contain all stock, but stragglers sometimes happen. Recommend to unpack all boxes before proceeding in case of straggler items. 2. Verify that products are Activated on the Point of Sale Sales Channel Under the "Publishing" section, Online Store and Point of Sale should both be listed. Here's how to verify the Point of Sales Sales Channel is active from the product listing:Here's how to see the Point of Sales Sales Channel for multiple items from the Products > Bulk Edit Page: 3. Verify that each product has inventory set aside for the event in Shopify. Under the "Inventory" section, the number of items in the prepacked bag & listed on the inventory card MUST match the "Available" Quantity in Shopify for that event.Here's an example of where the Inventory Section would be updated from a Product Page:Here's how to view inventory count for multiple items at multiple locations by selecting muliple items on the Inventory > Bulk Edit Page: 4. Prebag Inventory for the Next Convention and Store it in the Pick Box for that item Place the precounted inventory into a bag. Neatly interlock pins as shown below, it protects them and makes the bags more compact when packing. A gallon zip lock pack can usually fit 3 pins across nicely.Always face all pins the same direction. Do not lay pins face to face, as this can scratch them. 5. Add event tag to all items, always all lowercase with no spaces. Apply the event tag to all products going to the next event. This includes all standard pins and limited edition pins. The event tag will be used to display this item on a landing page as being available at this event. Ask if you're unsure what tag to use, below are frequent events and their tags. New event tags should follow the same convention: All lowercase, no spaces, acronym if obvious with no overlap with other events.
